As you can see from the pictures above, stainless steel juicers exude quality. They are to many of us, the most attractive style of juicing appliance on the market. But is there more to these units than just looks? Are they better juicers than their plastic counterparts? These are the questions that we shall be looking at in this stainless steel juicer review.

I don’t own all of the juicers pictured above. The only one that I have is the Breville 800JEXL, which is the one in the center. I love the all stainless steel construction. It would be hard to argue that the juice tastes better but the machine does look great in the kitchen!

Benefits of this style of appliance are that you do not have to worry about discoloration that you should expect over time with plastic models. Fruits and vegetable pigment such as carrots often start to stain the internal sections of plastic units after months of use. I haven’t noticed this type of problem with my stainless steel Breville.

It is not that juicers by virtue of being made of stainless steel automatically makes them better. However, what you will find is that companies that put the effort into designing this style of machine do so with the aim of producing a premium product. So the overall effect seems to be that in general, these units are some of the best that you can buy today.

Pictured above are the Breville 800CPXL Motorized Citrus Press, the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000 Watt Juice Extractor and the Super Angel Twin Gear 5500 Juicer. Their stainless steel design is where there is commonality but they are in fact completely different types of appliances with their own particular strengths.

You can tell just by looking at this model that it is going to be a sturdy and dependable product. It starts automatically when the lever is closed, squeezing your itrus fruits on the juicing cone. You can vary the amount of pulp that the stainless steel filters allow into the juice. It also features a special stop spout which helps to keep your countertop free from drips. I chose the OrangeX Jupiter citrus press over this Breville model. Being about to juice pomegranates and saving electricity were the two factors that swayed me.

I have already written a detailed Breville 800JEXL review about this top of the range centrifugal juicer. It makes a great choice for anyone concerned about speed, ease of use and attractive design. I use this juicer myself and it is definitely quicker than my Omega J8006 horizontal masticating juicer at making carrot and ginger juice. I go with the Breville when I want to juice things like apples, beets, carrots and ginger and don’t want to include kale, chard or spinach, etc. The Omega J8006 is a better choice when I want to make a green juice though.

Super Angel 5500 Stainless Steel Twin Gear Juicer

This is one of the best twin gear juicers available today. When you compare it to units such as the Green Star GS-1000, most of us would agree that the Super Angel looks the more attractive of the two. However, it does come with a more expensive price tag. All its parts are made from surgical stainless steel which goes to emphasise the hygiene side of things. There are fewer separate parts to clean than other twin gear machines although it is quite tricky to remove the fruit and vegetable pulp from the screen. The Super Angel 5500 is capable of juicing literally anything, from hard vegetables such as carrots, to wheat grass to soft fruits like melons. It extracts maximum amounts of juice to leave a very dry pulp.

I love the look of this juicer but to be honest cannot justify spending almost $1,000 on a kitchen appliance. Instead, the masticating juicer I use is the cheaper Omega J8006 which is about 1/3 of the price. I’m not convinced that the Super Angel is 3* better so I think I the J8000 series from Omega offers the best value.

There is a large selection of discount stainless steel juicers on Amazon. They make a good choice if you are concerned about build quality and procedures for the safest form of food preparation.

Cheap Breville 800JEXL

Factory Reconditioned Breville XX800JEXLBreville 800JEXL juicer

I use this juicer myself. The one I purchased was brand new. But there is another option. The cheapest Breville 800JEXL is the juicer on the left. It is true that they are the same machine but there is actually a difference which causes there to be quite a big difference in their prices. This is what I want to discuss today. On the right hand side is a brand new juicer. The machine on the left on the other hand is a factory reconditioned Breville 800JEXL. This means that it is a device that has been returned to Breville for some reason and then brought back to like new condition and sold again at a discounted price. What this means in practice is that the filter basket is simply swapped out so that you get a brand new one. The motor will also be thoroughly checked to ensure that it is trouble free. The part that is “used” is the body itself. So what this means is that there many be a slight mark, blemish or scratch. Of course, it may be completely free of any cosmetic damage and look just like a new machine. This is the risk with going for the cut price version. But if you take a look at some customer reviews on Amazon, you’ll see that the majority think they got a great deal.

Choosing a factory reconditioned model is quite a popular choice because you are able to get round about 1/3 off the price of the brand new machine. This translates into a saving of about $100. Of course, if you are buying this model more for show than use, then perhaps a brand new one would be more advisable. But if you want a top quality centrifugal juicer that you are going to use heavily then you can get really good value for money by choosing a cheap Breville 800JEXL. They are both just as good as each other as far as juicing is concerned.

Currently you can find the best price Breville 800JEXL on Amazon. This is the store that I recommend if you are looking for a cheap juicer from a reputable supplier. They not only offer low prices but also speedy delivery. And for purchases of this size you are able to get free shipping too. The only real problem is that Amazon don’t always have the cheaper version in stock.

I think the 800JEXL is the best juicer if you are looking for a top of the range and stylish centrifugal juicing appliance. Is it better at juicing than cheaper centrifugal juicers, like the Breville BJE200XL? Not particularly, but it looks very flashy!

These two juicers are very similar in many respects. How do I know? Because I own them both :) They are made by the same company so it is to be expected that many of their design features will be related. For example, they both have Breville’s signature wide feeder chute. On both the 800JEXL and the BJE200XL the hole is 3 inches wide. So with both machines it is easy to feed in whole bits of fruit and vegetables. This saves time because we do not have to chop up our ingredients very much at all.

They both come with a 1.1 liter collection jug which is just the right size to catch your juice as it comes flowing out of the machines. The jugs have a froth separator which stops any foam on the top of the juice from going into your glass. These juicers also have a cleaning brush included. This is handy because it helps get rid of the fruity pulp that often gets caught in the blades and filter basket section.

Also, both machines have dishwasher safe parts. Of course, the electrical base section cannot go into a dishwasher, but all the other parts are fine. They can be placed on the top shelf so you can take care of cleaning them that way. Personally, I always wash my juicers by hand as soon as I have made my juice. This is the easiest time to get them clean. It gets much harder to clean the filter basket if the fruit and vegetable pulp has a chance to dry on.

Another similarity is that both machines are centrifugal juicers. They are able to make fresh fruit and vegetable drinks in literally seconds and they are both easy to clean up after use. So with all these similarities maybe you should buy a Breville BJE200XL. After all, this juicer is about 1/3 of the price of the top of the range Breville 800JEXL machine. That said, there are obviously some differences.

When you look at the two juicing appliances above, it is easy to tell which one is the more expensive. The look of the BJE200XL is nice but the 800JEXL is amazing! Its body is made from die cast stainless steel. You can purchase these juicers on Amazon so it is a good idea to compare the prices there to check the latest deals.

The more expensive 800JEXL device is a twin speed machine. There is a high and low setting. This means that the central cylinder with the cutting blades can spin at either 13,000 RPM or 6,500 RPM depending upon the type of produce you are putting into it. The BJE200XL on the other hand only has one speed setting, 13,000 RPM.

I am actually a big fan of the Breville BJE200XL. To me, it represents great value for money. Admittedly, I do think that the 800JEXL looks much nicer. And as a present, it would make a much nicer gift. However they are two machines that, while looking different, do pretty much the exact same thing. They make juice.

Both the Breville 800JEXL and Breville BJE200XL are great juicers. I like using my 800JEXL but I would not recommend buying it on juicing grounds. However if you have the money and want the most stylish Breville juicer available today then it is the one to choose.

As the Juice Fiend, I am about more than just juicers. For instance, even the best juicer is of little use if you do not have some great tasting juice recipes to make. In addition, with the number of top quality blending appliances such as a Vitamix blender that are on sale today, there is a wide range of amazing smoothie recipes for you to choose from. The beauty of drinking smoothies is that they can be as indulgent or healthy as you desire.
