My personal preference for the juices I make is simplicity. By this I mean making juices that typically have a maximum of three ingredients. I like these kinds of juices because the taste does not become too complex and it is easy to taste my chosen fruit and vegetables. The exception to this “rule” is when I make green juices. I often have one of these drinks for breakfast, in which case I make sure I put as much goodness in there as I can manage! A blended juice with lots of ingredients loses marks in the taste stakes (for me) but it does help to give the juice a fuller nutrient profile.
Below is a list (in no particular order) of some of my favorite recipes you might want to try.

If you require more inspiration, the juicing books on the left are full of tasty recipes. I love making my own recipes but I find books really useful when I’m looking for fresh ideas.
I am often asked about juice recipes for weight loss and my response is that there are no magical recipes that will make us lose weight. If truth be told, I am not very interested in weight loss, I am interested in health. The fact of the matter is that when we enjoy juices and smoothies on a daily basis then a) we will become healthier and b) we will naturally move towards our healthiest weight. Simply put, if you are over weight now, by juicing, you will certainly be able to shed the excess pounds. It really comes down to being prepared to start looking after our bodies and find recipes that are both tasty and nutritious.
Instead of thinking of salad as lettuce, tomato and cucumber, we have to start looking at meatier salads that can become meals. For instance, by including spinach, avocado, carrots, cabbage and olives covered in a dressing of lemon, olive oil and balsamic vinegar we are able to create tasty, nutritious and filling meals.
If you think this is extreme, you do not have to make yourself eat salads. I do it because I want to and I enjoy it. Part of the enjoyment comes from knowing how great I feel consuming these live foods. A great way to start off towards improving your own health is by taking baby steps. Why not make a carrot and ginger juice to have with your breakfast and take it from there. You could then think about replacing your current breakfast with fruits. If this is not enough for you then it is really easy (and cheap) to make our own breakfast of oats, fruits and nuts (plus yogurt if you want).

Hey @juicefiend! Here’s a great summertime #greenjuice recipe that’s simple and super delicious.
1 large cucumber
1/2 head of romaine lettuce
That’s it! It’s got such a smooth (almost sweet) taste. Very refreshing and satisfying.

Hi @raptor22b. Thanks for your summertime #greenjuice recipe. I love keeping things simple, so just two ingredients is right up my street
Must admit, I don’t juice enough lettuce. I’ll give this a try if the sun is out tomorrow!

Hi Andy, I am just starting a juice diet and am trying to loose weight and get healthy. I became a vegetarian 2 1/2 yars ago and in that time I put on a lot of weight because I ate a ton of cheeses, sweets, and breads. any advise on what veg/frt combos to start off with? Hope to hear from you soon, Kim:)
Andy
Hi Kim, have you seen the movie “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead”? You can check a trailor out here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv3vEXy_EwU). I think it’s a great advertisement for juicing.
Green juices are the best for nutrition, but maybe not for taste. I just had a green smoothie with mustard spinach and it tasted like…mustard.
Pineapple and apple are good at masking the taste of greens. A real simple drink could be pineapple, apple, lemon/lime and some greens. If you want to make more of a meal of it, you could blend this juice with some bananas or an avocado.
The Juice Master’s book “Turbo Charge your Life in 14 Days” is great for motivation and it has some nice recipes too.
My favorite juices are really plain ones, e.g. freshly squeezed orange juice or carrot and ginger juice. And for getting good fats and the most nutrients into me, I love green smoothies, such as the recipe above (kale is my favorite green). Juicing a few oranges and then blending the juice with a couple of bananas can be quite filling.
