OrangeX Jupiter Citrus Press
OrangeX History
The OrangeX company from Venezuela sold the rights to its citrus presses to Focus Food Services based in Illinois in the U.S. There are two sizes of this juicer available. The one that I use, the Jupiter, is the smaller and the Olympus is the larger size. Having the larger version might be useful to get a bit of extra leverage. I could have done with that when I was making my orange and pomegranate juice in the video above
The good thing about the smaller sized Jupiter is that it easily fits under kitchen cabinets. The heights of these citrus presses, with their handles down are 27.5″ (Jupiter) and 31″ (Olympus).
Now a days, the official name of these juicers are Amco Jupiter and Amco Olympus. However, many people (including me) still refer to them as OrangeX juicers. Whatever terminology we use, we’re talking about the same thing
OrangeX Jupiter Review
This is a really cool citrus juicer. I prefer using my Jupiter manual citrus press rather than other electrical models because it’s so efficient at extracting a really high juice yield from all kinds of orange, lemons, limes, grapefruits and even pomegranates! If you watch the video above, you’ll see that it does require a bit of effort to push the lever down. I find pomegranates the toughest to juice. But it’s definitely worth it. Another benefit of manual style juicers is that they’re great for the environment because the only energy the require comes from us. For your own safety, always keep the lever in the down position when you’re not using your juicer. I forgot to do this once and the lever came crashing down. The noise is bad enough but if you trapped your fingers in the press, there would be tears.
The Jupiter juicer accommodates a 1 pint measuring jug but is not tall enough to fit a pint glass underneath to catch the juice. A pint glass will fit under the taller Olympus model. The base itself isn’t any wider though.
Cleaning the press after use is really simple. There are just two parts that have to be washed. I also wipe out the part that presses down on top of the oranges as, over time, it builds up a layer of gunk from the orange skins.

These juicers are not available from the manufacturer’s website. Amazon offer these juicers for the lowest advertised price online. The Jupiter is about $30 less than the Olympus.
